Screenwriter in residence
Working screenwriter using Arqo as their primary tool. Public process, monthly stipend, full creative ownership.
You write a script in Arqo over six months, in public. We pay you to do it.
What this is
Not a job. Not a marketing residency. A real screenwriting residency where Arqo is the tool. You keep the script. You keep the IP. The only deliverable is honest feedback and three public posts about the process.
What you'll do
- Write a feature, pilot, or limited series in Arqo over six months
- Use every surface — mobile, desktop, the memory layer, FDX export — and tell us where it breaks
- Three public posts: month 1 (first impressions), month 3 (mid-residency), month 6 (full review)
- Loosely available for one 30-minute monthly call with the team
What we want
- Working screenwriter. WGA, pre-WGA, festival circuit, MFA program, all welcome.
- A script you genuinely want to write, not one you're inventing for this.
- Someone who'll say what doesn't work. We'll quote you in the changelog.
What we don't want
- "Writers" with a coverage portfolio and no scripts.
- Pre-existing brand partnerships with Sudowrite / Final Draft / WriterDuet (conflict of interest).
- Anyone who'd quietly use ChatGPT for the dialogue and not tell us. The whole point is that you're the one writing.
Comp
$5,000 / month for 6 months, paid via Paddle as a contractor. You retain all IP in the script. Arqo gets a non-exclusive license to quote your three public posts in marketing for two years.
Apply
Email residency@tryarqo.com. Subject: "Screenwriter in residence · {{your name}}". Include:
1. A 1-page sample (any format, not necessarily Fountain). 2. A logline + one-paragraph pitch for the script you want to write during the residency. 3. Why Arqo specifically — what's broken about your current workflow that you think we might fix or make worse.
We're picking 3 writers for the inaugural cohort. Replies within 2 weeks of submission close (rolling).
