POV

POV stands for point of view. It tells the reader we are now seeing exactly what a character sees, through their eyes. Write the character's name and POV, like "SAM'S POV," then describe what they are looking at.
A POV puts the audience inside a character's head for a moment. It is great for suspense (what is in the dark doorway?) or for showing what a character notices that others miss.
When the POV is over, write BACK TO SCENE or simply start a new line of action so the reader knows we have left the character's eyes.
Sam lifts the binoculars. SAM'S POV - THE HOUSE ACROSS THE STREET A figure stands perfectly still at the upstairs window. BACK TO SCENE Sam lowers the binoculars, shaken.
