CONTINUOUS
CONTINUOUS goes where the time of day would normally sit in a scene heading. It tells the reader that no time has passed since the last scene: we are following the action straight from one place into the next.
Use CONTINUOUS when a character moves from one location to another without a break, like running from the hallway into the kitchen. Writing NIGHT again would be correct, but CONTINUOUS says more: there is no gap at all.
It is different from (CONT'D), which belongs next to a character name and means the same person is still talking.
INT. HALLWAY - NIGHT Sam hears glass break and runs. INT. KITCHEN - CONTINUOUS The back door hangs open.
